Diving in Koh Lanta – (almost) still an insider tip

In the 1990s, Koh Lanta was discovered for tourism. To this day, the tourist interest is limited, so the twin island is still almost as an insider tip. Especially for divers, Koh Lanta offers numerous first-class dive sites.

Koh Lanta: the twin island

Strictly speaking, Koh Lanta consists of two islands separated by a sea waterway: Lanta Yai and Lanta Noi. Meanwhile, both islands are connected by a bridge. Koh Lanta is part of the Mu Ko Lanta National Park, which is particularly impressive for its beautiful underwater world. Not for nothing the diving area Koh Lanta enjoys an excellent reputation with informed divers.

The tourist infrastructure is concentrated on Ko Lanta Yai, while Ko Lanta Noi is rarely inhabited. In Lanta Yai there are not only numerous diving schools. There are also a number of stunning beaches and idyllic villages to explore. Even on dive-free days there is therefore much to do here.
